Dogs across the KC Metro Area are being helped by the efforts of a program launched by No More Homeless Pets KC called the Pet Uplift Program (PUP). This is an outreach program targeted to helping pets in the most disadvantaged neighborhoods in our city.
What the team often finds are dogs that live their lives outside, year round, sometimes with little or no shelter. It's not a question of whether or not these dogs have had a litter of puppies - but how many. Sometimes, it’s an issue of cost and other times it's an issue of simply not knowing what should be done for the pets. Our program is designed to help on both fronts.
The Pet Uplift Program is designed to work with pet owners to help educate them about providing adequate care for their pets and to get the pets spayed or neutered.
We will help provide transportation for the animals to the spay/neuter appointment and are helping to improving pets’ lives by providing resources that these animals need such as food, dog houses, etc. While we may occasionally find an actual case of abuse, more often it is neglect or lack of understanding that has led to the conditions the pet lives in.
